Get Well Soon

Quick get well card made using Teddy Bear Parade (Bear cut at 3.50")and the card base was cut from Birthday Bash and cut at 5". I cut the printed paper layer using the shift key and then made the next layer at 4.25" I stamped the eyes using Peachy Keen Dolly Dumplins.

Guest Designer on Anna Bee Designs

I was honored to be a guest designer over on Sweet Anna Bee Design's blog today. She asked for me to make a Valentine's Day card and so I actually made two! One for my grandson (elephant card) and one for my granddaughter (Kangaroo card). I started with a card sketch that I found on Tsunami Rose Designs http://tsunamirosedesigns.blogspot.com/2012/02/i-love-sketches-by-tsunami-rose-day-2.html I used Birthday Bash and cut the animals at 3.50" The shapes behind the animals were cut in two layers using Mini Monograms and Art Philosophy. Princess Bella's Birthday Blog Hop - December 10 and 11

In honor of Bella's birthday, I chose to make a banner using Birthday Bash and Winter Wonderland. Of course I used Bella's favorite color, purple. The colors are so much prettier in person. I used some white tulle and purple and pink ribbons to string the banner which was cut at 4.50 inches from Birthday Bash. The font and the shadow for the font is from Winter Woodland and they were cut at 2.50 inches. If you click on the picture, you may be able to see my project a little better.

My Cricut Craft Room's November 100 Cartridge Blog Hop

Today I have 3 projects to show you. The cartridges I chose for the hop are Sports Mania, Dude, Birthday Bash, Lacy Labels, and Sweet Treats.

My first project is a layout of my son on his dirt bike. The title Need for Speed was cut from the Sports Mania cartridge. The figure on the dirt bike came from Dude. The mat under the large photo was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

The next project was so fun to make! I wanted to try making one of those little tea light cakes. I cut a scalloped circle from George and then used my utility knife to cut several slits in the middle of it. That allowed me to slip the circle over the candle on the tea light. I also cut a small strip of coordinating paper and glued it around the tea light. Next, I used my Cuttlebug Quilled Chrysanthemum Kit to create tiny little flowers and glued them to the top of the cake using my Beacon 3 in 1 glue. I also added some extra glue and then sprinkled some glitter to give the appearance of frosting. I cut a little box (and I think it was from Tags Bags and Boxes but I apologize because I cant remember!). I added a square to two sides using my Gypsy so that the box would have little windows. I cut some plastic from the outer packaging that comes with our Cricut cartridges to put in the windows. The card was made using Lacy Labels for the shape around the cake. In order to make it a silhoutte from the shape, I used my Gypsy and layered two of the images, one sized at 3.94 and one sized at 3.00. I cut the cake from Sweet Treats and it was sized 3.35. All of the papers were from the DCWV Citrus stack.


The last project is also a card that I made for a super nice guy that worked on a computer that my mom bought at an auction. It was a fairly new computer but the company was required to remove the hard drive. He was kind enough to put in a new one and load all of the software for us. (he was our IT guy at my former place of employment). The card base was cut using the Birthday Bash cartridge and I cut it at 4". The patterned paper layer was also part of the card feature on this cartridge so I also set it to cut at 4 to make it fit. That cute little shape for the sentiment was cut from Lacy Labels (can you tell that this cartridge is a big favorite of mine?) I cut all of the pieces for this at 2.50. The Thanks was also cut from Lacy Labels but it was from a different shape on that cartridge. I added a Panera Bread gift card inside and added a hand written Thank You to Dan. I used Zots to stick the card to the inside flap.

Scrapbook Saturdays - Puppy layout

Hi all! Its another Scrapbook Saturday at My Cricut Craft Room and today I have a favorite photo of my granddaughter on her 5th birthday. She was surprised with a new Yorkie puppy who she promptly named Charlie. It was the sweetest moment when she opened the box to find her new best friend inside. I love the saying "Whoever said you can't buy happiness forgot about puppies" and thought it fit this photo perfectly.

To create this layout, I used 3 different Cricut cartridges. Here are the cuts and sizes I used:

Stamping - shape for the sentiment. The outer blue was cut at 3" , the green layer was cut at 2.88 and the white oval was cut at 3 (used Gypsy to resize the layer and to hide contour for the white)

Create A Critter - Doghouse 2.00
Tree 3.00 (tree top was also embossed with a Cuttlebug folder)

Birthday Bash - Tag cut @ 4"

The double sided flowered / polka dot paper is Jillibean Soup. I loved this paper but they only had one piece left at Archivers. Border punches from Martha Stewart and EK Success accent the strip of Jillibean paper. I finally broke out my little Janome sewing machine and added zig zag stitching to the outside edge of my layout. One last little added touch was a butterfly brad that I won from someone's blog candy.

My pennant entry for the Cricut Circle

I have seen so many beautiful pennants from the talented ladies on the Circle message board and I am not sure I want to post mine. Amy from the board told me that she would go Redneck on my tail if I didnt post it!! So funny! Hers is amazing with a Gone with the Wind theme. There was a beautiful one that someone just posted for Illinois with so much detail and layers...gorgeous! I of course had no illusions that I would win the competition and I do like my pennant so here it is....hope you all like it! It is for Indiana of course and it showcases our claim to fame...the Indy 500! I used the required Birthday Bash cartridge cut at fit to page for the pennant and the shadow. I cut a car (dont know what one it is by name) from Disney Cars and I went to my favorite standby for welding a font: Songbird!

Birthday card

This card is for my granddaughter who turns 6 tomorrow. I can't believe she is that old already! I used Playtime and Birthday Bash for this card. The little girl and all of her layers and pieces were cut at 3.5. The card base was cut from Birthday Bash at 4.75. The layers on front and inside were reduced to 4.53 (I used my Gypsy). I Cuttlebugged the background piece and used Glossy Accents on her eyes and shoes.

Cricut Circle Stampede Swarm

Allison and Carolyn over on the Circle Message Board decided that for all of us that could not attend the Stampede in Dallas, we could have our own online Swarm. This is for the layout challenge posted this morning. Here is the sketch:

Sundae Birthday Card

My nephew Chris's birthday is Tuesday so I decided that since he works for Edy's Ice Cream, this cut from Birthday Bash would be perfect for his card.  I cut the sundae at 3 1/2" and used Glossy Accents on the cherry and the sprinkles.  I wish I had thought to Cuttlebug the white part of the ice cream but only remembered AFTER I had glued it on.

Mom's 75th Birthday

My mom turned 75 Thursday and I wanted to wait to post her card until after her birthday so here it is.  I used an Action Wobble on her cake.  Her gift was Create a Critter and and I almost used a cut from it for her card but I couldnt resist using the cute cake cut from Birthday Bash.  It is another great go to cartridge for birthdays!  The cake was cut at 3 1/2 inches.  The shape behind it is from Sweethearts.  The white cut is 4 inches and I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder.  I also cut another one at 4 1/4 inches in pink.  I added a liner to the envelope using matching patterned paper.

Birthday Bash Birthday Card

My sister's birthday is tomorrow so I got busy tonight and made her a card.  I love the banner craze and I really thought this cut on the Birthday Bash cartridge was just so cute!  The card shape is also on this cartridge.  Happy birthday to my big sister!
